Virus Control

We’re taking additional measures to keep our cleaning staff and clients in the North of England as safe as possible.

In response to the emergence of coronavirus, we’re taking additional measures to keep our cleaning staff and clients safe. This includes the constant review of Government, World Health Organisation and Public Health England advice.

We’re cleaning to the highest – safest – standards

To ensure the spotless finish that meets our high standards, we’re now cleaning glass reflective surfaces a second time, which ensures a non-streaky finish.

We’re cleaning to NHS standards for public spaces

By investing in ATP testing kits we’re now cleaning non-clinical surroundings to the equivalent of 50-100 RLUs (relative light units), which is the standard for NHS public spaces.

All of our products are NHS approved cleaning products and are supplied by reputable industry specialists & conform to BS Standards.

Our staff are highly-trained

Our cleaning technicians are fully trained and qualified or working towards BICSc and NVQ Level II in Cleaning & Support standards and many team members have a minimum of five years’ experience.

As at May 2020, training is taking place remotely, where possible, via our online training portals. 

Each member of our cleaning staff can adapt at speed to work with a range of industry-standard cleaning equipment across a range of different and sometimes challenging situations.

We use suitable PPE

Following Government guidelines, the minimum amount of Personal Protective Equipment to be worn for cleaning an area where a person with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) is a protective mask, disposable gloves and an apron.

As we finish cleaning an area or room, we remove items of PPE,
using disposable items where practical.

We prevent cross-contamination

All APM staff members are trained in infection control. To prevent any risk of cross-contamination, staff members are trained in the correct use of cloths, product, equipment and protocols – and follow comprehensive check-lists using a cloud-based app. 

Each member of staff is trained and assessed before each site placement, and all standards are verified and corrected via continuous training, supervisor checks and planned audits.

We take extra care

As a company, we provide all the equipment needed to meet the needs of each job, from government-advised levels of PPE to cloths, gloves, and wet mopheads.

We colour-code all product trigger bottles to make sure they’re used in the correct areas, then we wipe down each bottle with disinfectant after use. 

As an additional precaution, our staff are prohibited from wearing false-nails, polish or jewellery from the elbow down and follow government guidelines on hand-washing to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
