The APM Times: July
It’s been another productive and positive month. We’ve been fortunate to be awarded 2 new contracts: Accent Housing and Tyne & Wear Fire & Rescue Service which is fantastic news. Our Liverpool office is up and running and Kerrie and Jordan are there as I write- working hard to mobilise the Livv Housing void property contract. The Livv void property team informed us that we will now receive all of their work as they’ve been so impressed with the standards. Excellent work to all involved, including back-office staff supporting operations. Saturday sees the first cleans for TWFRS, which Pat is mobilising. This will be Pat’s first mobilisation of a Contract and she’s doing great. We welcome a new starter Stuart on the Liverpool team this month just as we’re saying goodbye to Pauline and Dawn: we wish them well. This month has been a lot of hard work for Adam who has been uploading our documents to renew our CHAS, Constructionline and Cyber essentials accreditations. We’re delighted to receive fantastic praise for our work on the Castles and Coast contract at annual review last week. We were informed we are now their preferred supplier and that they love the reports that Pooja creates at month end. Well done everyone!
This month Connor, with some help from Ana has been reorganising the stock room as we implement a more robust stock management system, and James has been furiously PAT testing to ensure we’re using safe equipment. Paul has passed his NVQ Level II in Cleaning and Support services this month. Congratulations Paul. We received sad news about Angela breaking her leg: we wish you a speedy recovery Angela! I want to give mention to all of you and thank you for your hard work, with special mention to those of you that travel direct to site and simply get on with their work. We appreciate your work and even though you don’t visit the office, please know we are thinking of you too. Our client feedback is amazing, which means they appreciate your efforts too.
Thank you everyone. Have a great May!
Hi all! So I was told I am in charge of the Fire station contract, happy days! So I spent few days last week’s on-site visits with Sarah and Paul. It was something new but a great experience. I got to see the fire stations from inside which is totally different than what you can imagine. Fireman’s pole was unfortunately not in use due to Covid-19 restrictions, so hopefully we can try it in the future 😊There is also a Police station on one of the station’s site, so it will definitely be an interesting experience. Watch this space…..

I have some exciting news to share with you all. Last week I and Sam went to look at forestry sites for a tender we are working on. A few days later I was at another site visit with Sam – at York University! And later that week I went with my work partner to Liverpool to check our new office and cleaned a few void properties. We have received brilliant feedback, that made me really happy

Last year due to Covid we lost many clients, thankfully now they are returning. Now slowly things are getting back to normal. Me and my team are working really hard and as result, we are getting well done from our clients. As contract manager till so far it has been a roller coaster ride for me, but I’m enjoying it. Very well done to the entire team for their great efforts.

It has been 204 days since I have been part of APM, still learning something new every day. I consider myself incredibly lucky that I got chance to work with Sam and you all. Yeah, it’s funny for some but true, this month I learned a bit about pricing how we send quotes how we calculate costs etc. etc.…. books teach you a lot, but practical experience is unbeatable. I want to become an entrepreneur and start my own business, no one has taken this dream of mine seriously including me except one person everyone knows the boss lady!! ( Sam). She makes sure that I’m all right and working positively towards my dream. She shared her wisdom!!! her little-little but life changing tricks and magically they are working for me. To get to know about those tricks stay tuned to our newsletter!!
Thank you
Hi, I am Connor I am about to go into my 5th Month of business admin apprenticeship. I am currently integrating a robust stock control procedure in our stock room in the APM Head Office. I am finding it remarkably interesting. My skills and knowledge are constantly growing whilst working at APM, which I am grateful for. I have a new Task every day and that is to turn off unnecessary lights in the office to help tackle APMs carbon footprint and make sure we are making a positive change to the environment
