APM Cleaning & Repair Ltd. is the ‘go-to’ cleaning company for North-East based End, having managed their cleaning requirements, including Covid-response, regular office cleaning, deep cleans to retail outlets and warehouse repairs and move-in/move-out cleaning requirements for the last two years.
As part of an emergency Covid-19 response, APM provide specialist infection control cleans to End, following incidents of positive staff Covid tests; responding within one hour to undertake deep cleans with special attention to areas of possible contamination.
Whilst End follow all Government guidelines in this respect, management were looking for additional reassurances to their staff and customers that our specialist Covid cleans offer; ensuring a tailored clean, responsive to their requirements, offered the additional reassurances they required, allowing them to continue to operate safely and within the law.
APM has therefore designed a tailored service delivery model for this client, ensuring their needs are met and we offer a reliable, responsive service to this client, in line with guidelines and unique to their industry sector.
As End also have their own in-house cleaning staff, APM has sensitively worked alongside their teams to ensure the approach is consistent and that they can safely handle any potential contamination, in advance of APM arriving on-site. Due to careful management, any potential hostility has been negated with positive and proactive collaboration.
Emergency contact support has been set up within dedicated WhatsApp groups with key personal at End; offering the availability of an APM Contract Manager at all times; to mobilise our ‘on-call’ staff, should they be needed.
All of APM’s attendant staff are trained in infection control, DBS checked, COSHH trained, Biohazard and Sharps trained as a minimum; with ‘Go Boxes’ ready for call-outs, containing all types of infection control products, PPE and equipment. Our teams additionally have access to safe disposal of cloths, mopheads and PPE at a designated disposal point at APM’s head office.
With a fleet of 11 vehicles and 60 staff APM’s on call services can reliably be offered without being impacted by staff holidays or sickness, with mobile staff rotas operating in cycles so that the same staff are not on call at unsociable hours consistently. APM’s vehicles are kitted out with colour coded cleaning equipment and a selection of vacuum types to be used as appropriate for each site.
APM’s staff are additionally trained in the use of electrostatic spraying equipment, using the renowned Victory Cordless Sprayer, in conjunction with NHS approved products.
With full training in ATP testing, APM’s Contract Managers check for the presence of viral/ bacteria bioluminescence following cleaning. If the surface has been cleaned thoroughly, viruses cannot survive. APM uses Hygiena’s Ensure Touch Luminometer to verify cleanliness using Ultrasnap swabs, cleaning to the recommended levels for hospital public spaces as standard. (50-150 RLUs- Relative Light Units). Swabs are taken following cleans and a report issued to End. Management team. APM will then issue a certificate to verify that the cleaning took place and was successful.
APM’s work on its policies, procedures and staff training carried out to enable its successful ISO 45001 accreditation and appointment to the NHS SBS framework combined with successful mobilisation of DCC Extra Care facilities where norovirus is/was a particular concern contributed to the success of this Covid-19 response product.
